“Bucket Lists”

Bucket lists are funny to me. It’s basically a list of “things I will probably never do.” Of course, we all have a bucket list and sometimes we do get to cross an item or two off the list, but for the most part, it’s nonsensical. As a compromise, I only have one item on my bucket list: to learn to speak Italian. Why? Who knows.

Nevertheless, when I find myself saying, “Someday I’m going to…” I realize I’m just unrealistically fantasizing. If it’s something I really want to do, what’s stopping me from doing it right now? Or actually putting a plan together to do the thing?

If it’s money, then I should go get more money. If it’s time, then I should make the time. If it’s my life circumstances, then I need to figure out how to change them.

A bucket list is just a fantasy. Better to cross the items off now than look back at a life never fully lived.

FYI, this comic is one of several from my book Mental Prisons.
